So, it's now a week later, I did the differential fluid change last week with about 25% Lucas oil stabilizer, several test rides later and the rear end is still noisy. Not sure if I need bearings or what, the noise is definitely in the differential case. I was going to swap out the extra rear axle I had, but as it turns out, it was from a 1995 G9, not a G14 and the mounting plate from frame to axle is different. This is becoming more than I bargained for. I guess I could pull the bearings out of the spare differential if that's possible as a cheap fix. Any thoughts out there on the best solution?

Sorry, never posted the resolution to this post. I ended up swapping out the input shaft from the spare rear end I had, noise issue resolved!
