Default Yamaha G16E Question

Hi Everyone,

I have a Yamaha G16E with an Alltrax controller that I picked up on the cheap to restore that is acting odd.

I stripped everything down and put it all back together but have found that the cart 1. Doesn't have a key switch (wires just wired together). 2. The charger is dead.

So, until I have a chance to get those 2 things taken care of I have been using a 12v charger to charge 2 batteries at a time, which seems to work okay for now (I know I cant do this long term). While charging I keep the 10a fuse pulled out.

Now the odd stuff... After I am done charging and I put the fuse back in line, the controller doesn't come back on right away. It usually has to sit for 12 hours plus, then the controller will come back on.

Can anyone think of a reason why the controller would be doing this? It just seems really odd to me.

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys might have!

No I can't but you don't need to pull any fuses when you charge this way.

Okay, that's good to know. I was a little worried that since the key switch is bypassed that it would cause an issue for the controller. Ie I thought it would be like charging with the key on, which i assumed was not such a good idea.

I would install a key switch - at least for safety reasons.
