G9 no go.
I'm usually a gas cart guy, but been getting more sparky's lately. Owner wasn't sure what it is, I read it as a 1994 G9 (JH7-202xxx). Came to me totally dead - no movement & no solenoid click. I went through the wiring diagram chasing the wire corrosion, stuck micro switch issues one might expect in a 23 year old cart. Fixed those, now I have solenoid click and confirmed continuity through the solenoid when engaged. Throttle sensor reads aprox 1000 ohms at rest down to 60 ohms full throttle between the white and blue wires, opposite between white and green wires. Near as I can tell that's about what it should be, or at least good enough that it should be moving. I can run the motor A2 to ground and with ignition on and pedal down it will turn the motor full blast, in the proper direction, in forward or reverse. To me that confirms my path for everything but the controller. Ordered and installed a rebuilt controller - no change.
I hate to jump to the conclusion that it's a bad part right out of the box, but I'm not sure what else it might be. Please enlighten me if I'm missing something here. |

Re: G9 no go.
These might not apply to you (since your solenoid clicks), but the top 2 things to shut down a G9e are the switch in the charge port, and the diodes next to the controller (2 small black boxes).

Re: G9 no go.
Thanks for your response. Yes, the switch in the charging socket was the first thing I found. That and repairing a couple corroded wire sections got the solenoid to click. Diodes are good & are also along the path of the control circuit to the solenoid. going over everything for a 4th time while awaiting the replacement controller...

Re: G9 no go.
Yeah, the replacement for the replacement controller fixed it. Just hate to assume a bad part out of the box.

Re: G9 no go.
Agreed
Too easy to just assume and then replace parts willy nilly. I knew a mechanic that did just that instead of testing individual parts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: G9 no go.
Where did you get your rebuilt controller? I have a G9E doing the same. I had the controller rebuilt but it's still not working.
