Default 05 Gas CC DS Throttle linkage questions

OK boys and girls, I screwed up. I was trying to make this puppy go faster than 14mph by adjusting the throttle tie rod and managed to break off one of the nipples next to the electric box. So I could get it working again, I made one out of a bolt that I ground a little ball on the end. Ain't perfect but it works. I also figured out that part of throttle pedal pivot pin is worn and I am losing some travel there.

So I guess my questions are, are these pieces replaceable or do I need to buy entire assemblies ??

Thanks in advance.

Thank you sir.

Did a little more searching and now realize I just need to pull the entire gas ped assm out and see what else I need.

Yes, I will take pics..

This all started cuz it won't go fast enough Thing that bugs me is it is hitting the rev limiter but she only runs bout 14. Rear clutch isn't moving as much as I think it should but belt is shot so I will replace that first and try again.

Does that cart have a ground driven limiter in the differential also?

If your talking about a "ground speed limiting governor", yep! Club Car gassers do!

It has the mech gov assm up top but where would I look for what you are talking about ? If I put it in neutral I can hit the rev limit at about 3/4 pedal as in the motor cuts out.

I'm guessing it didn't do this before you adjusted the linkage?

Well.... The first thing I had tried was the zip tie trick on the gov spring and it would cut out some then but I was thinking it was the mech gov causing this. In hindsight, it may have been the rev limit kicking in... Belt is next and then may go back to square one.

OK, got the new belt on and still a zippy 14mph. I have the gov set where it tops out just barely below the rev limit.Running 205/50-10 tires so that may have something to do with it and cant really tell if the rear clutch is expanding all the way. Kinda hard to tell at 2500 rpm.

Is this speed all I should expect ?

Hell no. 14MPH is pathetic. The REV limiter is your deciding factor here so ditch it. Clutches, belts etc have no bearing since the limiter is the party pooper. Disconnect the ground wire from it and disable it but; either add a tach or have a very fine ear to discern your engine RPM's. It will now run like a raped ape but you have been warned !!! It will over rev unless you keep an eye on it. 4000 rpms are considered safe, I hang fire at 3800 which gives me close to 30mph in short bursts. Whatever you do, be careful, don't ramp it for long drag racing sessions or you will detonate your engine.

Chris.
