Fixing new roof to plastic body?
Still a long way off but I'm going to build a new roof, like a t-top on a boat, aluminium structure with canvas top.
It probably wont fix at the same points as the original frame, So what's the best way to connect it to the body, to prevent any stress and leverage from cracking the plastic body panels? Would an aluminium backing plate work or would ply be better? Does silcone adhere to the plastic? Anyone with any experience on this? Thanks Ian. |

Re: Fixing new roof to plastic body?
I would not try to support a top of any kind just buy the body, you will gust eventually rip it out over time, cart are too stiff, putting plates will spread the stress load but you would still be best to mount at a point were a support comes up from the frame to tie it all into, being a club car there is an aluminum angle cross mount just behind the seat back rest you could tie into,
