Default belt height

This to me looks like the belt is riding low on my clutch. I'm going to be getting my clutch machined and a new belt and all that just wondering if this looks right and if a new belt and machining will make it ride higher. Thanks

The belt should go down to the center hub on the drive (engine) clutch as shown at idle but, the clutch should close and the belt should run up closer to the top at high rpm. Wear mark indicates correct operation. The rear clutch works the opposite, starts high and opens to allow belt to drop in at higher rpm.

If the drive clutch is machined to close more the top end is improved (assuming extra power is available)and if the driven (rear) clutch is machined to close more low end is improved.

I'm going to have the driven clutch machined I'm about to start taking it apart this weekend I just wanted to make sure everything was good before I took it apart. Adding a jet, k&n, machining the driven, the new spring, and new belt. That should help some.

Looks about right. All those mods will help. I have all those and the machined driven clutch. We get around just fine on the street at 20-23mph all day long.

I hear that. Im getting those speeds on 18s so you might have some room for improvement.

my belt is really lose and cracked plus I don't have the gov adjusted all the way yet and im on rather old gas. I just picked it up a few months ago and the weather has been to bad to do much to it. I know when I first got it I don't think it was breaking 10 mph. tires was all flat spark plug was shot air filter was plugged oil was nasty. nice way to treat a 2010 "low hour" cart. oh well I got it cheap. I have more in the allsports 7.5 lift, wheels, and tires then I do the cart.

I new belt will do wonders. I recommend the heavy duty one from Cart Parts Plus. You will gain a little speed and get better performance overall.
