Default Driven clutch assembly explantion....please!

Can someone explain to me how to properly assemble the driven clutch spring and what the three different holes for the spring do to change operation?

I am totally clear on how to disassemble it and put it back together and have rebuilt it a couple of times but I'm wondering what the different holes for the spring change, functionally.
