07-14 (I think 14) had Team axle. Newer are back to Dana/schaffer. Both readily take all common 19 spline motors as far as I know. AS LONG AS the overall motor length does not interfere with rear coilover. I have put aftermarket motors on many team axles, but none on newer yet.

This is interesting as the common belief is both Ezgo and Yamaha take the 19 spline shaft and therefore they use the same motors BUT - the YDRE has a different casting that prevents the popular Admiral B2 from fitting up to the differential. See pics. The centering ring is solid on the YDRE and it is mostly removed leaving just 3 small sections which fit in between the windings on the Ezgo. I hope this saves somebody a big headache.

I have put GE & AMD motors on that Team axle no problem, never tried an Admiral. Good to know.

I'm told the windings are too close to the end of the can

That motor adapter is very easily removable from the axle, just a couple bolts. I would be clearancing that rim to allow it to fit. I know it's a pain, I don't like the Team axles either, and Yamaha doesn't use them anymore.

Is that right? What years did they make them like the one I showed?

2014 was last year for Team axle. All Drives from '07-14 had Team axle.

Here's a awesome link for legit Yamaha parts lookup. (I couldnt remember change year). https://www.shopyamaha.com/parts-catalog/lines/golfcar
