Default Serial number like no other.

So I got a what I believe to be a 95 or 96 G14E.. but the serial number that's on my cart don't match any numbers I've found to tell me the exact year. The number is JN4 200915 . I have found JN4 100101 and 200101.. can anyone shine some light on this for me?

Here's a guideline of how Yamaha serial numbers are done, there are variations I will explain.

First 3 characters designate model, in your case JN4 is G-14E electric.

The 4th character will always be a number, identifing year of production of that model type, usually a zero indicates first year of that model, 1 indicates second year. In your case, yours is one of those variations where 1 indicates first year of that model, 2 indicating the second year of production. So yours is a 1996.

Typically all build sequence numbers follow, but #00101 is where they start (for some unknown reason, maybe pre-production quality control vehicles). 200915 would lead me to this conclusion, your cart is the 815th vehicle built in the second year (1996) of the G-14E production run.

There are a couple of models that did not strictly follow these rules, but yours fits into what is stated above.

Well nothing that specific came up while looking for information! Thank you! Btw I'm not new to golf carts, but I am new to yamaha carts! Lol

On another note I have found a lot of issues with it, bad solenoid, possible fried 300 amp AllTrax programmable controller, a rusty hole in the frame and I haven't even looked in the motor yet..
