Plastic caps
My 2003 has plastic hub covers not steel. How do I tell which hubs they are. The book says metal? Looking for a lift and it is specifically for steel.

Re: Plastic caps
In the middle of 2003, Club Car changed the spindles, bearings and hubs, so the manual may not be that accurate!
~Pre-2003.5 hubs will have a silver metal dust cover, (as long as they weren't painted) ~2003.5 and newer hubs will have a black plastic dust cover. All else fails, pop the dust cover off, and look at the bearings... Pre-2003 bearings will be grease packed, and Post-2003 bearings will be sealed with no grease. It's pretty crucial that you get the right lift for your existing hubs, or you'll have to replace the hubs also! If the dust cover is black plastic, and the bearings are sealed, get a 2004+ lift. |
