Powertron P12000 batteris and QuiQ charger profile?
I just bought a set of 4 Powertron P12000 batteries from my local golf cart wholesaler ($713 after tax), now I am wondering if I should change the charge profile setting for my QuiQ battery charger, and if so which profile would be correct for these batteries as I can find no technical specs for the P12000 batteries online, I do know they are made by Trojan, but don't know if they share the same specs with the T1275's.
thanks Ike |

Not sure of which profile they should use, but you should be able to email Delta-Q and ask.

Be wary of any brands like what you just got (especially that price. you get what you pay for). Names like PowerTron, Econo Power, Super Spark! and Exide/Rural King are CRAP. You might get a year at best.
US Battery, Trojan, etc are the brands you want for golf cars. |

Quote:
The issue isn't what name is printed on the stick-on label attached to a plastic box filled with lead plates, lead dioxide plates and diluted sulfuric acid that is made by one of a dozen or so manufacturers that actually build batteries, it's the active surface area of the plates and the concentration of the acid. In other words, the AH rating. It is true that some battery manufacturers have better manufacturing practices and use better raw materials, bit in general terms batteries with the same AH rating subjected to the same environmental conditions, same maintenance an same usage will have similar cradle to grave lifespans regardless of the name printed on the adhesive backed label stuck on the box. For example, the Rural King branded 6V battery made by Exide has a 186AH rating, while the de facto standard for a 36V battery pack is the Trojan T-105, which has a rating of 225AH. Needless to say, the cart with a T-105 battery pack will travel further on a single charge and the batteries will last longer before they need to be replaced, but in some situations (short daily trips) the Rural King brand batteries might be the best bang for the buck. It depends on the price vs lifespan and if lower capacity battery will provide acceptable performance for the cart owner. |

Re: Powertron P12000 batteris and QuiQ charger profile?
My understanding is that Powertron is Trojans B brand, though as mentioned I can find no specs on the P12000 model as it does not show up on Trojans web site (other Powertron models do, but not the P12000). As to use, this cart is used to drive around the roads on the family cattle ranch, off road stuff is usually left to the trucks, tractors, and a Kobota diesel UTV, typically back and forth maybe a couple of miles per day, though typically more like 1 mile per day.
