2013 Club Car XRT 950 Throttle Cable Remove/Replace

New to the site. First post.
Just purchased a 2013 Club Car XRT 950 with the Briggs & Stratton 14HP.

While operating it here the other day the engine kept "wrapping out" at full throttle. Came the conclusion my throttle cable kept "sticking"

It would ball up at where it connects to the gas pedal and full tension would be back at the engine where it connects.

I ordered a new throttle cable.

My question: the cable is disconnected at the engine. Easy. The cable is disconnected at where it connects into the back of the gas pedal. The part that i can NOT get disconnected is the "cone" part at the front of the buggy near where the actual cable connects to the gas pedal. Couple inches up from where the actual cable connects to the gas pedal is a piece of steel with a slit in it. The cone is on one side and the actual braided cable goes thru the sheath on the other side. I can not get that cone to disconnect from the steel piece to be able to remove the entire cable to replace.

Any and all help appreciated.

Usually it's held on by an e-clip, or it just pops into place.
Post a pic of the connection point if you can. Should be fairly simple, but I'm not familiar with the setup on those carts, so not sure enough to say.

It has wings on the back of it. Like an electrical connection if you will.
