Default 1986 Gas Club Car

Here is my issue. I bought and old 86 club car and placed the fuel filters, fuel pump, lines, and cleaned the carb. When the filters are full of fuel the cart runs great. As I run the cart, the filters drain and it seems like the cart isn’t getting fuel. It then Boggs down and dies. Once I fill the filters again it runs great. Like I said, it has a brand new fuel pump and the carb is clean. Any suggestions?

Where is the new pump from? Search around the forum but I seem to recall some people talking about cheap chinese pumps that can come with a hole in the diaphragm rendering it useless. I used to have this same problem with GY6 engine'd scooters, would typically get a bad pump 1 out of every 3 or 4, definitely NOT ISO9001 standards.

It sounds like the vent in the fill cap may be plugged. (or the cap was replaced with a non-vented cap)
Newer carts have non-vented caps, and a separate tank vent to avoid a vacuum inside the tank.

Loosen the cap a little, take it for a ride and see if it helps.
