Club Car wont engage into gear
Hello,
New to the forum, thank you in advance for any help. I have an old Club Car which I love. It somewhat frequently (becoming more frequent) will not go into gear. I don't know if it is coincidence but what use to religiously trigger it into gear was engaging the parking brake hard. Once disengaged, it would go back into gear. Now I can go back and forth with it a number of times and then eventually it will engage. Any thoughts as to what the problem can be? Thank you for the help! SP |

to BGW
Do you have a 36v or 48v cart, and for the FNR, is it a lever or a small electronic rocker switch? |

Re: Club Car wont engage into gear
It is 36 volts with a lever that swings back and forth with F N R.

Check your V-glide. It is a black, pie-shaped box in between the batteries on the driver's side. Pop the cover off and ensure the wiper arm is traveling its full arc when you step on the go pedal. Do this with the cart off and in neutral.

If I am looking at the right thing it appears to have full movement. I tried to upload a picture but it isn't working.

Ok, next inspect your FNR switch on the back side near the batteries. Inspect the copper contacts. They may be dirty and not making a good connection. You can move the FNR lever swiftly back and forth a few times to clean the contacts.
These old V-glide resistor carts are pretty simple systems, it shouldn't take much to get it going. |

I really appreciate your help. I am definitely trying to get more things done myself! I'll check that out now.
***Checked that, it all appears to be in good shape. |
