Will a 36 volt solenoid work on a 48 volt cart?
Also I am having a hard time finding the procedure for testing the controller. Its a 2008 ez go RXV. Last edited by oncearacer52; 05-23-2020 at 09:59 AM.. Reason: Add to iy. |

Re: Solenoid
A 2008 rxv came with a 36v solenoid from the factory, so, in your situation yes, a 36v solenoid will work on your 48v cart.
Search button top right area, then "danaher rxv troubleshooting guide" |

Re: Solenoid
Another thing, Is there a way to unhook motor wires and then run the motor with a jumper(s) from the battery?

Re: Solenoid
Batteries dont hold AC power, and you have a AC motor, so no, you cant do that.

Re: Solenoid
I just realized it is an ac motor a few minutes ago. I unhooked the three wires going to the motor at the controller. All wires check shorted to each other. I didn't think that is right. Motor bad? I also unplugged all plugs to motor while doing this.

Re: Solenoid
Apparently you have not downloaded & read "danaher rxv troubleshooting guide" as I suggested above. You would know the ohm values of your motor leads if you had.

Re: Solenoid
Well, I have only once seen failed windings in a rxv motor, and it was damaged by acid intrusion. You might want to be "very very sure", a new motor is around $1000
