Default 2015 RXV hesitates / power loss & restore while driving

Hello.

I have a 2015 RXV that is losing power while accelerating. It feels like it wants to go, and then for a short moment, there is a power loss, then it power up again. This action occurs on and off until the desired speed is reached. It is particularly bad when the cart has a heavy load and is accelerating from a stop.

Any idea what might cause this?

I came back from my trip with half charge and measured the voltage with the lights on and key in forward position; it read 49v.

Thanks.

I have a 2015 rxv but never experienced this I would think the motor brake would lock up when power is lost well at least mine has done that. Weird.

Could also be Speed Sensor going out. This has happened to me in the past.

I don't think the controller is loosing power. The motor is simply not providing power to the wheels. Another member mentioned the speed sensor. Perhaps the controller stops providing power if it cannot sense the motor speed or postion?

Could it be the throttle pedal potentiometer?

Possibly but I have a 2015 and speed sensor has been replaced more than once. I have also pulled the speed sensor out and cleaned it and seemed to help.

OK, so this is typical of a bad speed sensor? I have never really messed with the cart much other than batteries and some basics. Learning. Is there a way to test the sensor?

I have an oscilloscope if its helpful (engineering background).

Is it easy to change?

Put cart in Tow and turn key off

take out two screws in bag well and remove panel.

On the motor you will see a harness with one screw. Remove the wire harness and unscrew the speed sensor. Should pull straight out. I would take a cloth and clean it good. Then make sure and reattach the harness. See if that helps.

Could be something as simple as wires not fully connected, or could be motor brake.

Mine would accelerator then feel like it would try to stop almost jerk and do it several times while accelerating.

Mine never attempted to brake. It would coast and regenerate as usual. It was only hesitating to accelerate. I just went for a ride and like before last night, it seemed to work correctly. Seems having a heavy load on the cart (7 people) may exacerbate the issue.
