08 TXT 48V Solenoid Clicks Cart Doesn't Move
08 TXT 48
Alltrax XCT MJ 400A Solenoid Admiral B4 The above all from Scotty B Volt meter readings: Both solenoid lugs to Main Neg: 48.9v (when cart is in Run) Main Neg to Main Pos: 48.9v Meter reading on dash: 48.8 Was able to drive it around the block for about 5 mins. Came back to the house to pick up the kids. Drove it down the street and could feel it losing acceleration/power. Brought it back to the house, now it won't move at all. Good click from solenoid but won't go F and R. Any help troubleshooting this is appreciated. |

I suspect battery voltage low....put voltmeter across battery switch in F...then press pedal..see what voltage drops to...

Re: 08 TXT 48V Solenoid Clicks Cart Doesn't Move
Update: After sitting for about 20 mins, now it is running fine again, albeit a little slow perhaps. Maybe because it's a brand new motor?
I should have stated in my first post that I was also in the process of the Admiral B4 break in period. I've been following Scotty B's recommendation for breaking the motor in. Will continue with that and follow-up if it happens again. |

Re: 08 TXT 48V Solenoid Clicks Cart Doesn't Move
Solenoid clicks, so problem is in the high amp circuit.
Connect DVM between the XCT's B- and M- terminals. When pedal is pushed just far enough to make solenoid click, you should read full battery pack voltage (48.9V). If you don't get pack voltage, there is an open in the thick cables going from solenoid to controller and motor, or the armature & brushes in the motor, or the B- cable from controller to battery pack. If you do get pack voltage, slowly press the pedal to the floor and the voltage ought to smoothly decrease to 0V. If it doesn't, the problem is the throttle or the controller. To check throttle, measure between J4 Pins 3 & 4 (black and white wires). You should get 10V with pedal up and 6V with pedal down. |

Record a datalog and if it fails again we might be able to see what errors occurred.
