EZGO DCS Micro Switch Issue
Hey guys, I have a '99 DCS. I noticed the forward microswitch (73194-G01 Marquardt 1022) was stuck in the closed position. No matter if it's in forward or reverse. However, I have forward and reverse like nothing is wrong??? I did pull the switch out to try & get it to open with NO luck. I do have continuity through it, so its stuck completely closed. Now, when I unplugged it (basically opening the circuit) the cart does NOT operate forward or reverse. I can plug it back in (basically closing the circuit) & it operates just fine with forward and reverse.
Whats the purpose of the switch opening when the cart is put into reverse?? |

Re: EZGO DCS Micro Switch Issue
That is the run switch. DCR doesn’t have a separate circuit for F and R. That switch closes in both F and R. When in R both switches are closed.

Quote:
The controller defaults to forward and has to be told to do reverse by placing pack voltage on Pin-4 (orange wire). Having a constantly closed run switch is hardly noticeable. The only abnormal operation I can think of is that the cart would run forward when shift lever was in neutral. Other than that, the cart would operate normally. Here's a schematic for a DCS with the later type F/R that you have as well as pictures of the F/R assembly in F, N and R. |

AWESOME!! Thanks for the tech support on that guys. Even though it's running just fine would it be a good idea to replace it? What would you guys do in my shoes??

Re: EZGO DCS Micro Switch Issue
I'd replace it. Somebody might expect it not to move in neutral and get a nasty surprise when it did.
