Default Do I need new solenoid for Navitas AC motor and controller?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihzn5j-XcbU Hi there. I have watched this vid on installing the Navitas AC motor/controller. I'm all set to have a go at installing this tomorrow and have been watching the "how-to" YouTube and studying the package of components from Navitas. The Youtube shows a new solenoid being installed but there is no new solenoid with the Navitas kit. Can I get away with using the existing solenoid for now?

My cart is a Clun Car Precedent (2010 model).

Many thanks.

I'm using the stock solenoid with a Navitas 440A w/o problems, you could ask Navitas service to be sure.

The other thing I'm worried about is the vid shows the cabling being new HD 2 gauge cable for (1) solenoid to B+ on controller, and (2) "W" "V" "U" controller to motor. Is it ok if I use the stock cabling as no new cabling came with the kit?

For (1) solenoid to B+ I intend to use the existing thickist gauge yellow cable.

For (2) W/V/U cabling I have one new cable and intend to repurpose the existing thickest gauge white cable (which connects the existing motor and controller). Is this the right choice? Does it matter which of the W/U/V cables I put the heaviest duty cable on (which came with the Navitas kit)? Also, this still leaves me short one cable? Can I use a skinnier cable on one of the W/U/V terminals?

Also - presumably it's OK to set this up and test it initially without the WTF programmer?

The OTF controll isn't necessary, everything can be done with the app. I've replaced all cables with the Navitas install, exept the 3 U,v,w from the motor ( none replaceable on a RXV ). I think you could start with stock cables but you'd replace them asap ( check If anything gets hot ).

Are you saying I can use the app without the OTF programmer and the OTF programmer is completely unnecessary? If I can do it all on the app without the mess of the OTF I will simply use the app. Many thanks.

OK thanks for all the advice - installation was super quick (took about an hour with the help of my non-English speaking mechanic).

Motor went in fine - from above through the access hatch - into a non-lifted cart. Dont think I could have done this alone due to the weight of the motor (and I can bench 125KG). Wiring is easy - especially if you aren't replacing the solenoid.

One small issue is the cart has a quiet buzz from the reverse buzzer in "Forward" and so I will order an HD F-R switch.

I would also recommend that you order a replacement B+ lead if you are doing this as this is not provided - luckily I had already upgraded mine previously.

Yes. I've got my conversion kit without the OTF controll ( it saved some money on the purchase ) and i really doesn't miss it
