Re: new to me 93 Marathon
Nice. I’ve done that a few times. And old bed frame works great. Looking forward to seeing progress.

Re: new to me 93 Marathon
Thanks for the tip, I tried to get an old bed frame but could not find one local yesterday so I ordered some 1x1 angle from Amazon. Do you have a wiring diagram for this cart? Again thanks for the tip. Ill post up some pics as I tear into it.

Re: new to me 93 Marathon
There should be a wiring diagram at the top of the electric EzGo subforum in the stickies section.

Re: new to me 93 Marathon
Thank you I found it (wiring Diagram) and have verified it is for mine. I disconnected the FNR switch from the front wall and folded all the wires out of the way Without having to mark them and disconnect individual wires.
I purchased some 2awg wire and am gonna upgrade all the battery wires and other power wires. It may be slow (MPG wise) but want plenty amperage capacity(torque). |

Re: new to me 93 Marathon
Does it have an electronic controller or an aluminum box with resistors? I think 93 would've been a controller. 2 AWG cables is always a good idea.

I had hoped to get the batteries mounted this weekend and be riding but USPS lost half of my steel order. I got more coming but it will be Thursday. |

Re: new to me 93 Marathon
UPDATE:
a few pics as I clean up the battery box and rebuild. 1st pic my BB in all its rusty glory 2nd removed the FNR switch and folded the wires back out of the way 3rd just the battery trays 4th and 5th my poor attempt at welding and fabrication I got the 1st one built yesterday but with my bubblegum welds it would not slide into the hole. So gonna use my 4 inch grinder and shave it down a little. |

Re: new to me 93 Marathon
I got the single battery boxes built and welded in yesterday. The rest of my steel order came to day so I built the last box which holds 4 batteries and the motor controller. I hope to be riding tomorrow evening but certainly Saturday. I have not welded since HS so my skills are seriously rusty. I bought a cheap HF welder and it seems to do OK at least for a DIYer like myself.
I have 1 more bar to weld in and this BB will be complete |
