F2 post on starter shows ground not battery...is this normal?

Switches will be here on Wednesday. I'll update my progress once I get them swapped out. I really appreciate the help!

Easy way to test the switches is to remove the green wire from the FnR switch and press the pedal. (key On) See if you get 12v on the green wire.
If so, jump it to the Black wire with a paper clip or gator clips or any other kind of short jumper and press the pedal and see if it starts. IF yes, the FnR switch is bad.
If not, the black ground wire is bad and/or doesn't have a good connection to ground.

If you do not get 12v at t end of the green wire then the throttle switch is possibly bad. Move to that and check for 12v getting to the throttle switch on the orange wire when Key On. Press the throttle and if you do not get voltage through to the green wire then the switch is bad.


The white wire from the FnR switch to the Key switch is only grounded with the key Off.
In the grand scheme is really almost unnecessary to even have that wire, but it provides a ground path for the ignition kill if the shifter gets bumped into neutral by accident when the engine is running. Doesn't have any effect on the starting circuit.

Okay so the problem is fixed. Now on to the next problem. I'll create that under a different post once I search to make sure someone hasn't already posted it.

Next problem is the engine will start and run for a few seconds and then quit running. I pulled the ground on the rev limiter, but that didn't fix it. It will not start immediately again and I have to wait a bit. It appears that perhaps it is fuel related. Like the engine is flooding after it starts and by waiting the fuel evaporates. I recently placed a new carb on it and I have adjusted the valves to what I believe to be my best attempt.
