I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that honing is passe. Machinists leave a cross hatched pattern in the walls for dual purpose. Most importantly the motor oil hangs in grooves and lubricates the rings as needed ..... Are you just reringing an old piston?

Most of the automotive spring-loaded with stones are just too big for these smaller bores. There are some brake cylinder hones that will fit. If your's will fit using it with a finer stone should be OK. The flex hones are easy to use and give a good finish, especially if you didn't bore the cylinder. Either way be sure to wash with hot soapy water real good when done, and then clean again with a lint free cloth and WD-40 or some ATF.
