Default Need to test a voltage regulator

Hey guys, Im new to the cart world and just went out and bought a 92 G9. I need help testing my voltage regulator. I bought it with out it hooked up and would just like to test it before I hook it up. Can anyone tell me the specks so I can test it with my multi-meter. Thanks J

The best test would be to wire it in and run it. Check charging current and voltage. I don't know the generator specs. But if your battery is in good shape (after the start recovery) 13.5 volts is the normal charge rate on any 12 volt system.

I checked mine by comparing the battery voltage before starting
and again after reving the engine. Mine read 12.8v and 13.4v sligtly
above idle.

I will add also that the meter you use has a + or - % scale accuracy. The cheaper it is the less accurate. So if you see an increase in voltage while its running you know its charging.
