Total Charge question

I got a Total Charge charger with my '92 Marathon and it's a '92 also by the build date on the front. My question is does it shut off automagicly when it's done or does it put 21 amps into the pack until the timer runs out? The reason I ask is I just got new batteries and put them on the charger yesterday, set the timer for 12 hours but it shut off before the timer ran out. I checked the pack voltage and it was 38.8 and this afternoon it is 38.7. I assume that is fully charged. So, does it run the time out or shut off? Thanks.

It will shut down once the batteries are fully charged OR the timer reaches it's end of run.
