Default Squeaky/crunchy noise coming from rear.

I've got this noise coming from my driver's side rear wheel (pretty sure that's where it was coming from.) It's a squeaky/crunchy sound in which the frequency increases with the speed/rpm of the wheel. At first I thought it was because of a sticking caliper on the rotor, but I don't think that's it anymore since I just replaced the brake cables. So far, this is what I have done:

- upgraded to rear disc brake (no noise for a while, every thing cool)
- replaced rear shocks (no noise)
- replaced rear leaf springs, and went to the HD ones. (After this is when I Started having issues)
- being the cart is lifted 6", and the new springs made the cart sit higher, I assumed the brake cables needed looked at
- so, replaced brake cables, and put the cable extenders on that came with the brake kit (I didn't need them earlier). Still a noise

Last night, after riding around for a while, with four adults, the noise came back, and stayed. The noise isn't constant, like when I let off the pedal it goes away. It seems to only happen under load/acceleration.

What else could it be? The Wheel bearing? How could I check?

Any help would be appreciated because I seem to be spinning my wheels on this one (no pun intended)

Well, just went to put the cart in the back of the pick up, and half way up the ramp, something broke. No power at the wheels anymore. I can hear the motor spinning when I press the pedal, but nothing at the wheels....

Any suggestions before I start blindly tearing into things?

At this point, my only hope is that whatever happened is related to the noise I was hearing, and I don't have two gremlins to chase down....

Check your hubs, sounds like you may have stripped them.

I've got the disc brakes back there, hope not. I should be getting it back in the garage tomorrow, gonna lift it up and see what's going on. Always something on this cart, I need to weed out the gremlin....

sounds like the input shaft may have stripped my buddies cart made a similar noise before that happened to him.

Got the cart home, and up on stands. The castle nut does not turn when the motor turns ( so I guess that rules out stripped hub). However, there is an extreme amount of play in the rear drivers side tire. Even with the lugs fully torqued, the whole tire/wheel/disc assembly seems loose.

Any suggestions on what to look at next?
