Default Power loss through CVT poll question

My guess is at least 30%, and I stated in another thread 50% wouldn't surprise me. Lets assume you take an engine from a direct coupled dyno and then put ii in your cart. You have the best and latest technology in the primary clutch, but the driven is stock. Snow mobile or equal belt. What's the difference at the rear wheels now versus on the dyno? Just guess, and tell us why. No real correct answer......

The loss in the cvt is no where near that large. What you really are checking is the loss between the engine to the tire. Thats not only the cvts but also gearbox

Direct swap from engine dyno to chasis dyno
with a 200 hp 800cc skidoo was a loss of 53 hp.
That seems a lot but remember a sled has to spin
the track not wheels.
