That ball bearing fell out of one of the drilled holes in the carb. It's used to plug part of the hole. I had that happen to a Merc outboard years ago. It would not run on the two cyl supplied by that carb until I found it and returned it to it's hole. Find out where it went and replace it or your carb will not work correctly.

Also, just for the heck of it, I checked my compression and its a little low. 150 psi while cold and then about 140 psi warmed up. I put some oil in cylinder and it went up to 175. Any thoughts? I'm definitely not gonna rebuild engine right now because the thing runs good and strong and for all I know, in the 10 years I have had it, I couldn't been this low for a long time. I could try to throw some of that compression restore in the crank case from pep boys. What you think? Anyone successfully raise compression with an additive. |
