Help! Buzzing noise when gas pedal is depressed.

Hello BGW! I need some help with a 1983 gas EZGO Marathon. One day it was working and the next it makes a buzzing noise and wont move when the gas pedal is depressed. The engine does not try to turn over....nothing, zilch, nada.
Any suggestions on where to start looking for the problem?

need to start with the battery volts test?? sounds like the solenoid could be bad, check the battery connections, pos + and neg -, ground to the frame needs to be clean

Rib. Thanks for the reply! After typing my original note, I figured I would start with the simple stuff.....like checking the battery and the connections. I found the ground was corroded, so I cleaned the battery terminals and cables. Then threw the charger on it and found the battery was sulfated and couldn't be recovered. Ran to autozone and got a new battery....problem solved!
