Default CARBURETOR HELP Big Block 625cc

Long story short, I installed Vegas Carts 625cc motor (Zongshen 625CC) about 2 years ago. I sold it and just recently bought it back and I noticed it was running rich. The previous owner told me he drilled out one of the jets to make it run more efficiently, but I think he drilled it too big and let too much fuel in. It seems like it is fouling out the spark plug. Is there a recommendation for a better tuned carburetor that I can purchase, or replacement jets?

One option would be to install an adjustable main jet from someone such as ECcarbs or NRracing. P.S. Some that have done this on the 625 used the methanol unit as the jet size is larger than the gas unit the reason being the kit is for a 390-460 clone. The 625 has a higher fuel demand so using the methanol jet needed less turns out which resulted in the needle screw less likely to have to be where it might not be tight enough the tension spring.

Alas no. Shepard used to do them including my 625 3 circuit after I ruined it with hand tools. I did bump his thread on the 24 mm carb with mine being the photo carb. BUT that being said just adding the adjustable main jet to my original 22 mm VC carb worked out fine. Both carbs were dechoked and throated. Even with these mods with just adjusting the jets I was able to dial them in.

Go to youtube and enter "clone carb jet change" and select the go power sports video. You will leave in your present emulsion tube but replace the main jet with the new one. Again use the the new part to replace the old part holding the bowl on. Screw in the adjustable needle to maybe 1 full off being fully seated and work from there. Just want add to this no doubt about building your own engine and having it run even better than expected is a great thrill BUT also tuning it in so it has razor sharp throttle response is another great thrill. ENJOY

No But remember I am using a S/G for starting which spins the engine a lot faster than the clone engine starter. Shepard's theory was due to this with a heavily throated carb and NO choke assembly at all mine starts in all weather.
