Default New to me 03 TXT PDS, left rear brake locked up

Just picked up an 03 txt PDS with no batteries. The left rear tire is locked up. Haven't started working on it, but the Cary has sat outside for a year or so. My guess is that the drum brake is locked up. Any insight on common issues with the brakes?

Carts usually sit outside don't they? Well half and half I guess? I hear the drums can be a pain to get off when the hubs are seized. Sometimes you have to smash off with a hammer.

Just loosen the shoes as much as possible and or remove the clips so the shoes pull away from plate when you pull the drum off.

If the brake was set the cable may be rusted. Disconnect the cable at the wheel to determine if this is a cable problem (replace them) or a stuck shoe problem (tap the drum and turn it with a bar between the studs)

Thanks for the help guys. It was a stuck drum. Pulled the left rear tire, two whacks on the drum with a rubber mallet and it was freed up. Brakes still seem to work good, won't know for sure till I get some batteries later this week
