Default still confused

I bought a whites rogers solenoid and it says to turn the solenoid so that both open ends are together.my question is how to wire them?

On mine, which is a G1 all the wires stayed the same. I just turned the new solenoid around backwards. I'll look around and see if I have a picture of it, but all the wires stayed in the same place.

Thanks for the info,I was worried about hooking up the wrong wires and burning out my new solenoid.is there any danger in that happening?

I actually put mine in the wrong way the first time and the only thing that happened was the starter began turning the engine over as soon as I put the cables on the battery. I obviously new something was wrong and found the answer on the forums here. To answer your question though, I didn't burn anything up.
