Default g 14 balance shaft marks are gone

I am just finishing a rebuild of a g14, motor is tuff starting and barely revs over idle. I thought balance shaft was off ( marks are GONE off crank gear) checked some forums and seem to be correct. starter is also giving me trouble, sometimes stays engaged until batt is disconnected. pickup clearance is not adjustable ? ran fine before rebuild just had a lot of oil blowbye.

Once you install the cam and crankshaft dots, you need to turn the crank counter clock wise alittle to get the balancer in. it should look like the picture when installed.
