Re: getting ready to start 36v to 48v conv????
I plan on a D&D motor later, probably the ES-81 speed and torque or the ES-58 torque monster.

I bought my solenoid off e-Bay fo $50.00 (normally they are $150.00 plus). I got my controller from 3R Sales and Service. They are a sight sponsor and offer a 10% discount to forum members. Give them a call. The sales person is Justin and he is awesome to talk to. I posted a link to KTA Services for the best price on the PB-6 pot box. I bought my lugs for my cables off e-Bay. The dealer was called GenuineDealz. They were like $13.00 for 25 of them. I bought my cable from the local welding supply. It was $35.00 for 25 feet. The best batteries are Trojan (expensive), and US Battery. You can also get Interstate batteries. Their 6 and 8 volt golf cart batteries are manufactured by US Battery. they are exactly the same battery as the ones with US Battery labels. Both very good. DO NOT BUY EXIDE BATTERIES. Remember you get what you pay for in golf cart batteries. Crown also makes a decent battery but not the same quality as Trojan or US Battery. I will try to post some pictures of my build tommorrow so you can see kind of what everything looks like together. You know what they say, "A picture is worth a thousand words", and I don't really want to type a thousand words!!! |

Re: getting ready to start 36v to 48v conv????
Sorry it took me so long to reply, ive been at the deer lease since thurs. To everyone ( especially impalass88 ) THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!! The information is exactly what I was looking for. I hope to be getting started on this real soon. The pics are great. Im sure I will reference them many times during my build.
Tgautreaux, What do you think your top speed is with this set up? I'm assuming you are still running your stock 36 volt motor. ALL, If I do exactly what Impalass88 did to his cart and upgrade to 6 new trojan 8 volt batt. what do you think my top speed will be with the stock 36 volt motor in my cart. Thanks again to everyone for the help. |

Re: getting ready to start 36v to 48v conv????
I'm glad the info helped.
What size tire will you be running? With 23" tires I expect to see about 20 mph on 48 volt with 650 amp controller. I have not upgraded to 48 volt yet or the 23" tires so I am just estimating. jkeisel, did you get the private message I sent about the solenoid? |

I think that's a good estimate I gps 2 of these on 20" tires and came up with 18 & 18.5 mph |
