Default Beason's build thread

I wanted to start a build thread on my cart so i can post updates here, instead of making a new post every time.

I recently picked up a 2016 EZ-GO Express S4 gas cart. From what i can tell its mostly stock, although stock has some nice features.

lift
20in meaty offroad tires
10in polished aluminum wheels
brush bar
full light kit with headlights, tail lights and turn signals
rear flip seat
The previous owner added a "ooga" horn as well.

The short list for me will be adding the following

USB charging ports in place of the cig lighter
no one uses cig lighters anymore, i need to be able to charge whatever device is pushing the tunes

bluetooth amp and speakers
no visible head unit, just a hidden amp that has bluetooth connectivity

trailer hitch
to carry my hitch tray fishing setup, a flagpole holder, or whatever else i come up with

offroad cube lights

solar trickle charger
so the radio doesnt kill the battery if we are sitting at the park or fishing hole

Ill attach a few pics of the cart.

Got some speakers installed. They are Pyle 3 way outdoor rated speakers. I ordered a 4 channel amp so i can add another set later if i want to. The amp isnt here yet though.

I also set up a youtube channel, that i will upload videos of the various garage projects i complete.

Check it out!

super busy weekend! with all this rain, i spent most of the time in the garage.

I installed a power distro panel under the dash so that future mods have a place to connect. I also installed a set of LED light pods, and a 3 port USB charger. I guess i dont have a pic of the usb, but i will get one later.

I got the amp installed last night, and i think it came out pretty nice. IT fits under the dash well, and the bluetooth seems to work great!

I did a 4 channel so if i want to add more speakers later i can (i probably will)

here is a link to the amp, and speakers

Full install can be seen on my youtube channel.

Guys! I am super excited for this upgrade!

I wanted a trailer hitch on the cart from day 1. I want to be able to use my hitch rack fishing rig, a flagpole holder, or get one of those lawn carts. I knew the limits going in, and i dont have unreasonable expectations.

I went and bought one of the "universal" trailer hitch kits. Well, that doesn work on my cart. Not even close. The universal is $39. the correct hitch is $159!!!

the bolt holes either dont line up, or arent there, and the hitch itself isnt long enough.

I was about to pack it up and return it when i remember that my neighbor is a fabricator/welder. We got together this weekend and he hooked me up! Added some square bar, and welded the tabs in instead of bolting them in. I can still unbolt the hitch if needed.

since welding destroyed the paint, i went ahead and repainted the step. I painted it with bedliner on the top side for traction.

It came out perfect!
