Smile cart did pretty good over the Holiday 2 questions did arise

1 the shift cable came loose from the bracket, when reinstalling the the cable, think I got it out of adjustment- grind going into gear- if you start it in forward, it starts and drives nice- is there something I am missing, or is it as simple as I think?

2 The wife really like the cart and enjoys driving it- the However that came up, "can I make it quieter?" are there any suggestions, beside get a new one- muffler that is, not wife- thanks for all the help, She did help me wash the cart, sitting in the barn/shed, the cart got real dusty

3 is mine, I'll ask again- what is the smallest lift I can do? she likes the cart and the way it looks, it is great for the mowed areas of the place, however, that is only 10 acres of the 43 acres

thanks again

The shift cable could have come out of adjustment when it came out of the bracket. This is from a club car manual but it should work just fine.

"For major adjustments, the cable retaining nut must be loosened and adjusted. When the cable is properly adjusted, with the Forward/Reverse hand in the Neutral position, the shift lever of the transaxle will also be in the Neutral position. Retighten nits and the transaxle to 22 ft-lb; retighten nuts at the Forward/Reverse assembly to 43in-lb."

If it grinds in reverse then you need to move the cable closer to the transaxle. I usually just shift the gear into place and take my hand see if I can move the lever in the transaxle and further into gear. If its solid then your good to go!
Hope This Helps you out!
