Will not start
2000 Club Car DS. Had to much weight on the nack, bottomed out and shorted starter/generator it got so hot the battery cables were smoking. Replaced starter/generator. Will not run. I've checked wiring harness to make sure nothing shorted. Starter solenoid clicks

Check your grounds. The one from the end of the starter/generator case and up to the frame cross member AND the main ground between the battery (-) terminal and the frame rail right in front of the battery. As a test try a battery jumper cable from the ground terminal on the end of the starter case to the battery (-) terminal. If that doesn't change anything check the actual output from the solenoid. They can "click" without really making good contact. When the pedal is pressed and you hear that click from the solenoid you should have battery voltage on the white wire from the solenoid to the starter generator.
