2010 DS FE290 Oil Leak
Hello
I have a 2010 DS FE290 that has developed an oil leak and I am trying to figure out where it is coming from. It looks like it is above the dipstick and pooling then dripping down. I am attaching pictures to better describe, thanks for any help. |

Re: 2010 DS FE290 Oil Leak
Looks like your crankcase gasket is leaking. I would try cleaning it all off real good and run the engine for a little to help pinpoint the exact location. But from those pictures, it definitely looks like the crankcase.

Re: 2010 DS FE290 Oil Leak
ok, thanks! Does anyone have a recommendation on the best place to buy new seals?
I found a few write ups on older carts, has anyone done this job on a newer cart? |

Yeah, that's crank case gasket.
Its easy to pull that motor and just do it on the bench. On this one, I don't recommend buying the OEM gasket. Paper gasket is way better. |

Re: 2010 DS FE290 Oil Leak
The OEM gaskets get brittle from the engine heat. There are 2 reasons why the side case gaskets leak on a Club car. The aftermarket gaskets are paper and on the thick side. Ive never had a side case gasket fail once its been replaced with a paper gasket. Not going to say it cant happed, but Ive had some out there for 10 plus years.

Ill add, don't use any kind of sealer or gasket material- dry install only
