92 Club Car Fe290 No Start
Cart was running when parked a few years ago, and was left out in the elements.
Things i know at this point. 180 Psi checked with Compression gauge. Fuel in bowl Has spark, checked with grounding screwdriver (accidentially touched and it bit me pretty good lol) although it seems weak to me i have no way of knowing if this is good or bad, i have tried starting fluid with no results too. could this be due to weak spark? Could the Igniter be bad even with showing spark? Thanks for all of the ideas in advance. David |

If you are getting consistent spark, the coil & ignitor are "probably" OK. Have you tried a different spark plug? Have you flushed out the old fuel? Cleaned out the carburetor? If it was sitting "a few years" the old gas won't light and may "water down" any starter fluid you spray in. But I'd start with the spark plug.

Forgot to add, new oem carb, fuel filters, hoses, cleaned and pressure washed inside of tank, tank sat several days drying, and fresh 2 1/2 gallons of gas. I just tried to see if a timing light would pick up the pulse through the plug wire, and it will not work. this is a known working timing light. cart does not even try to fire off.

should have a nice fat audible BLUE spark when cranking. Its simple to check spark. I have successfully burned clean fouled spark plugs with a propane torch carefully applied to the center electrode till all burns off. it works if no new plug is handy. Let plug air cool slowly!

New Spark Plug installed and spark seems weak to me when jumping with a screwdriver inside the sparkplug wire boot to ground. does not look like a fat spark to me. I am used to seeing a pretty strong spark working on late model cars, hot rods with MSD ect.
