Loud sound, almost grinding, while riding
Got a '04 precedent. When it cranks, it has a little grind sound. You really hear it when riding. I know it's not the bearing on the clutch.
Could it be the crank bearing going out? How can I tell? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Loud sound, almost grinding, while riding
Try running it without the drive belt. See if the noise goes away if the rear end isn't turning. A Club Car "common issue" is the input shaft bearings in the rear end. Since the input shaft turns any time the drive belt does you would still get the noise in neutral (maintenance mode), so you have to take the drive belt off to check it.

Re: Loud sound, almost grinding, while riding
Okay, I removed the belt. The knocking sound is definitely coming from the motor shaft behind the clutch. There is no clutch belt, just the start/gen belt. The pulley isn't wobbly when the motor is running. When you rev it, the knocking gets louder. Is that an obvious fix? I just changed the oil. Of course, it was doing this prior to the oil change. I thought that would fix it. No luck.

Does it sound like a crank bearing?

Doesn't that look like a hot spot?

This has, what looks like, a burn spot on this plastic gear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
