Intermittent no start issue
I have a 2003 club car day gas.
When I step on the pedal the starter engages and spins the belt. But sometimes won't spin the motor when the piston is close to tdc. I replaced the battery with a new one and still the same issue. If I turn the engine backwarda by hand and then try it is usually fine. Any ideas? Is this the start of a bad start? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks Tim |

Re: Intermittent no start issue
The starter not turning the engine over at the compression stage is pretty common, and it's happened to most of us!
In most cases it's due to a worn, or loose S/G belt... you can try to tighten the belt first, but, if you don't know old the belt is, you might want to consider replacing it! If that doesn't help, then the brushes in the S/G may be getting worn! .02 |

Re: Intermittent no start issue
Ok great! Thanks Lockman!! I had tightened the belt but didn't change. At least it gives me a place to start.
Thanks! |
