I like ezgo because there seems to be more parts around for gas ezgos in my area. This goes both ways,I was easily able to sell all the stock parts I stripped off during the build to help with the cost of the build.

On steering and drivability, the Yamahas feel like they have power steering. Very soft unlike the EZGO (and much worse, the Parcars).

Parts? Yes Yamahas are a lot more pricey. Compare the price of shock absorbers:Yamaha vs. Ezgo.

On power, the Yamaha YDRs are as powerful as the 350's.

On tuning, the EZGO easily beats the Yamaha. Carbs are very accessible, governor is virtually open for easy adjustment.

I have had ez go and yahama.
I like the ez go better.
More parts and parts cost less.
As for the ride they seem the same to me.

I think yammies are great, but I have an EZGO with a 16hp clone and love it. Since your ezgo in q1uestion is headed down that road I think you would be real happy with it for the long run.
