Bypassing it with the zip tie allows the max potential speed of it. Basically you are compressing the spring with the zip tie so the axle governor has limited to little effect. There are many threads on here with pictures showing how to do this.

**NOTE: Doing this of course voids the original design of your golf cart..
Thanks quinn i'll search the thread.

2 points on the Govenor-Modifications: If you unhook it you allow more speed,Ok if you have certain people using it,Not so good when Kids are using it.If you have Larger-tires and run off-road(more than just riding on flat trails),The cart will be almost useless with it hooked up.So either zip-tie it so it can be used as designed if needed,or remove it entirely(disassemble the axle-housing)to prevent damage if it comes apart at higher-speeds.Hope this helps.

I would still like to see your pictures.

Thanks

The shims are 1-1/8" grade-8 U-bolt washers(I work for a suspension-shop:Thru-Way Spring.)Any Grade-5 or better 1-1/8" Washer or spacer will work.Mine are 3/16" thick each, right now I have 2 installed.I'll get some in the morning and post the pics,I'm gonna try more shims in mine anyway(Getting Greedy for torque, but won't let go of the stock-motor.)
