Cool 16hp V-Twin in 92 Marathon

Installing a 16hp Vanguard in my 1992 Marathon. Could not find a kit for this model, so out come the blow torch and hammer. I have pulled the old 295 and did a lot of measuring, I know it will fit, just not sure how. I am about to cut off the old motor mounts from the swing arm, flip them over to the bottom of the arm, and weld them back on. Then I was planning on running square tubing across mounts front and rear. This should give me a place to attatch my engine plate to. Also, I ripped apart the seat, and plan on doing away with the plywood and building a aluminum seat frame to give me another inch of clearance for the motor. Has anyone done this before? Am, I over thinking this?
