Brush Guard and Rear Bumper for $150
Just wanted to share a pretty cool find - do a search for "Rebel Metal Works" on Ebay and You'll see these really REALLY high-quality brushguards and bumpers for $150 a PAIR (yep- front brushguard AND rear bumper with reciever) ... I was skeptical but figured the cost was too low NOT to try a set out, they're incredible. The symmetry is perfect, the welds are excellent, the powdercoating is very very nice, all made out of 1.5" oversized 14g steel with 1/4" steel mounts - if you're in the market for a set of metal for your cart, definitely check this guy out!
20130318_105413.jpg I'm hoping to get them mounted this afternoon or tonight and will snap some pics, but I just figured I'd share the find !!! |

Re: Brush Guard and Rear Bumper for $150
Well there goes THAT plan for now, it appears the set that was sent is for a Drive or ?!? as the mounting plate and holes are entirely different than my cart on the front guard, the rear *almost* fits (the side mounts line up just fine) but the bracket to secure the rear of the reciever is off by almost 3/4" making it impossible to mount.
I contacted the owner, Mark, via PM twice today, hopefully he'll get back to me ASAP so we can resolve the issue ... It's a crying shame too as the guards really ARE nice, but if they're incorrect, they're incorrect - I'll update as I get new news ... |

Re: Brush Guard and Rear Bumper for $150
turns out after doing a little research I was accidentally sent a set for G22 - Mark is doing his best to work with me and has offered to fab up another set for my G16, we're going to come up with a final decision later today ...

Re: Brush Guard and Rear Bumper for $150
I've talked to Mark a couple of times. Asked about a brush guard set for Ezgo. He said next month they are getting a cart in the shop and starting the fab work. So anyone looking for brush guard for Ezgo, just a note.... I also mentioned to him that I've heard of people having problems with brush guards not fitting because of fender flares. Since I have fender flares I'm hoping he takes it into consideration.... ;)

I really like the look of those. I will have to look him up on eBay when I get home tonight. Does he make one for the Drive?

Re: Brush Guard and Rear Bumper for $150
So Mark and i finally ended up coming up with a pretty slick solution to save him the headache of having to fab up a whole new set ... Starting with the rear bumper, the G22 and the G16 are almost identical except for a small difference in height and length of the rear mount so i ended up cutting the tab off and making a simple bracket to attach it to the rear subframe (in the pic it's just mocked up but once drilled and mounted, etc it's solid as a rock)
As to the front, the G16 mounts are a bit wider than the G22, and the angle of the factory mounting points is about 10 degrees different ... But then I did some more research and realized that most of the G16 stuff out there uses the swingarm bolts as a mounting point (which I do NOT like one bit) so I ended up drawing up a simple adapter mount which I sent to Mark, he owns a Stamping Company so he's making the new mount and shipping it out at no cost, REALLY good customer service in my opinion! Once the adapter gets here I'm going to get the front guard mounted (to the frame itself WITHOUT having to screw with the swingarm bolts, etc like most other guards out there), the design will move it about .75" out from the cowl as versus most other guards but will match the angles, etc PLUS give me a nice solid 4-point base for the winch I eventually plan on sticking up there ... As soon as i get the mount and do a little drilling, etc I'll get pics |
