I don't think shocks would help. That's just my opinion. Camber will also cause a problem. Are your wheels sitting straight or is the top out more than the bottom or is the top in more than the bottom? Also what kind of lift do you have?

If the shocks/coils are original and tired,it will definitely have a negative effect on handling.Weak Shocks won't dampen properly,and weak coils won't carry the front-end weight properly,causing erratic alignment-changes and poor handling.If the tops of the tires are leaned in when parked,loaded or empty,that changes toe-in,which will cause darting/hunting of the steering since the tires will be pushing inwards,which will effectively cause lift in the front-end,since the tires are trying to push together at the front while moving.Hope this helps.
