Primary clutch on g1 and no power please help!
Should I have this much space between my primary clutch? I am getting no power and the belt is about 1/2 in from the top of the secondary while sitting and off! I have no power up hill, it bogs down, and takes a while to get moving... I'm thinking of shimming the clutches to 1/4. Lowest didn't sell washers with the diameter I needed. Any help here? Thanks a lot!

Start by measuring your belt and compare with a new one.
Always cheap and easy first, good luck. |

No. Yamaha use 1 3/16" wide belts, when they wear down to 1" yamaha says toss them. If you have a lifted cart you will notice your cart start to bog before it gets down to 1" wide. For old worn clutches I recommend you get a 1 1/4 wide belt to take up some extra space. However if you change the type of clutch or engine to trans distance....then stock belt may not work anymore.
