Default Potentiometer/ITS Throttle

Hello On the 1999 EZ-GO 954E;
is the Potentiometer and ITS Throttle interchangable terms?
I have one wiring diagram using the term Potentiometer (out of the tech repair and service manual)
And another wiring diagram using the term ITS throttle inductive MS3 Throttle. (off of a wiring diagram from a Series to EZ-GO 1994-2000 1206 replacement motor)
Thank you

I have never seen an ezgo newer than a 94 with anything other than a ITS throttle.

True for golf carts and other vehicles based on Medalist and TXT frames and bodies. Some of the EZGO industrial and special purpose vehicles had pot box throttles Y2K and beyond.

Here some service manuals I found in my stash for some Post 1994 vehicles with pot box throttles.

No they are not interchangeable terms. Pot box throttles and ITS throttles are different animals.

I'm not sure which type the 1999 954E has, but I suspect it is the ITS type.
To find out which it has, follow the throttle linkage.
