Re: Anyone get their cart Florida Street Legal?
Thanks for the reply Scubabud. If I ever modify my cart it's going to look just like yours. Maybe w/o the back seat.

Re: Anyone get their cart Florida Street Legal?
about the Windshield...
What is the actual requirement? I can't find a real source online for Florida. AS4 or AS5? Can it be fold or does it have to 1 piece? Thanks. |

Re: Anyone get their cart Florida Street Legal?
anyone? I really want to get a jump start on the windshield and would hate to order the wrong one. I am hoping that I can get away with a folding windshield. Does anyone know?

Re: Anyone get their cart Florida Street Legal?
An AS4/5 windshield has a DOT stamp in one of the lower corners. I believe there are some folding ones. One warning some places want to charge you as much for shipping as the windshield costs.

Re: Anyone get their cart Florida Street Legal?
Mine is an AS5 that folds and there are NO MARKINGS on the windshield itself. I did have a receipt that showed I purchased an AS5 folding windshield that DOT accepted. I purchased it from Cart Parts Plus, a vendor here on BGW way back, a bit after when this thread started.

Re: Anyone get their cart Florida Street Legal?
I went to get my paperwork reviewed today at the Margate Fl office. The paperwork passed but the woman said to make sure I have a LSV Window Sticker stating the LSV Warning of speed and max speed. She said she fails carts without the sticker. I cannot find one to buy and I remember someone here having this same issue and making their own. Does anyone know what exactly this sticker has to say? The DMV said I needed it, and I don’t think she know what it was suppose to say either.

Re: Anyone get their cart Florida Street Legal?
I didn't need a sticker but they did require the Slow Moving Triangle on the back of the cart.

Re: Anyone get their cart Florida Street Legal?
I have the DOT markings on mine and it is a fold down. I do not remember were I purchased it. It was online and I did hold out till I found a free shipping deal the shipping for a windshield was crazy expensive otherwise.

Re: Anyone get their cart Florida Street Legal?
Yea, there was a guy that went to the same office in Broward County (Margate) that had the same issue. He made his own sticker and posted the wording they wanted. I just cannot find that post anymore. Hopefully someone that went the the Margate office for the inspection will chime in soon.
On the windshield question, mine has a engraved AS4 DOT approved emblem in it. |
