Trailering 2017 Club Car
Team,
New club cart owner here, I’m planning to transport my 2017 Club Car on a trailer and travel about 200 miles. Any suggestions for tie down points or strap locations would be greatly appreciated. I’ve attached images of where I currently plan to position straps. Thanks for your help. |

Re: Trailering 2017 Club Car
I transport my cart almost everyday. I use one strap across the floor board in front of the brake and GO pedals, snug it down and go. You may want to remove the windshield. The wind load can be hard on it. I have a brace at midpoint on my windshield so it’s not a problem.
I play one course 10 miles away, and another 45 miles away. If the weather is good I play one of these everyday. |

We take ours behind our RV and drag it up and down the east coast. I use wheel straps but your trailer needs to be setup for them. I also use a couple of straps around the suspension at the front at well.

Re: Trailering 2017 Club Car
The rear strap is not going to tighten evenly... the side with the ratchet is going to get pinched between the spring and shackle and the other side will be looser... on the rear of mine, I go over the rear axle under the motor and wrap back under the axle on the other side of the gearbox.
The front strap looks like it’ll get “cut” apart by that black bracket. Depending on what front end you have, I’d suggest cris crossing two straps to just behind each front wheel. You can even use smaller straps, it doesn’t take a lot to hold it in place, but be careful what the straps are rubbing against.... vibration and wind can wiggle the straps more than you might imagine and they can easily get cut if set up like your picture. Face forward or backward when towing?

Re: Trailering 2017 Club Car
I always face my cart forward. This thread got me to thinking about the way I strap mine down. I have changed the last few days. I have a hook on a chain that goes from my trailer front frame then hooked to cart front suspension. This will keep the cart from sliding back over my 2x4 chock when I pull out too fast. The side rail of the trailer will keep it from sliding off going around curves real fast. The tail gate ramp will keep it from coming out the back if my chain breaks.
