Default 1999 CC DS - Motor pulsing

Hello,

Just found this site today, because of course, we've got a problem.

My Dad bought a used cart from his neighbor. 1999 Club Car DS Electric, S/N a9943-819150.

Newer batteries, fully charged.

Coming up from the lake last night, the crew hopped on and went in reverse for a few seconds / 5 feet, flipped to forward and it wouldn't go, it only "pulses". Like the motor is trying to put power to the wheels, but this only happens for a fraction of a second. The pulse cycle is maybe 3-5 pulses per second.

Since then, that's all it will do. Connected to charger and confirmed batteries are full.

From what I've read on here, the F/R switch is one culprit, as are the solenoids, and the OBC.

Any insight would be appreciated

TIA
Bud

May have figured this one out. Upon further inspection of the batteries, new in March, we found the positive terminal on one battery was melted, and badly. Like, the post was about 1/2" off center and slanted about 5 degrees.

Dunno man, that could be it...(sarcasm)

Yes, that's more than likely your problem. Pulsing or shuddering in a series cart (like yours) is a sign of low voltage. Below is a link to how you can fix that terminal, and after the repair be sure to check each terminal monthly, ensuring they're tight.
